A blog award!

First things first, I want to thank y'all for the sweet encouragement from my Resolutions post. Every response made me smile and I am grateful for the encouragement from everyone! Thank you!!

Ashley Lauren at Texas Prep and E gave me the Stylish Blogger Award! Thanks ladies!! :)
The rules for this award are:
1. Thank the person who gave you the award and link back to their blog
2. Share 7 things about yourself
3. Award 15 recently discovered bloggers and
4. Let them know you gave them the award

Hmm 7 things about me...here goes!

1. I have an outrageous fear of millipedes and centipedes. They have way too many legs and I would bet that they don't even need them all. Nothing is scarier than a millipede.

2. I have to have my toes painted at all times...I think my feet look freaky without nailpolish haha

3. I eat M&Ms every day. Even when I'm on a diet. I just count them out :)

4. My favorite drinks are Arnold Palmers (iced tea + lemonade) and diet coke with limes

5. I love Eeyore...I collect them and I just think he is so sweet even if he is a little glum

6. I'm quite crafty...I can make cards, decorate cowbells, make little canvas paintings, ornaments, all sorts of things...now that I think of it I'll have to post some pictures!

7. I love headbands they are some of my favorite accessories! :)

I'm going to pass this on to everyone who reads this! I would love for yall to let me know you did it so I can read it!

Incredibly Big Catch Up!

I hope y'all had a great weekend! Friday night I went to the gym with Caitlin, then went over Liza's later! Saturday I went shopping with Mary Catherine, we had lunch with Liza, then shopped some more. I went to the gym for a quick workout, then MC, Liza and I went to supper at a great Italian place named Old Venice!
Here we are dressed up for girls night! (I look weird in this picture...sorry about that!)
We always seem to run in to people we would rather not see while we are out! But we put on big smiles and were as sweet as could be! After we finished our food, we came back to my house and chatted until 1:30 in the morning! I had such a great time! Sunday was a low-key day. Sleeping, cleaning, gym...nothing special. Overall a great weekend!

Leslie gave me this blog award last week!
The One Lovely Blog Award! I'm so excited! Thank you Leslie!! Leslie has such a cute blog and she always puts up lots of great pictures! For this award, you have to share it with people who have touched/changed your life (in a good or bad way!) and why.

I wish I could give this award back to Leslie because she totally would have been one of the bloggers I picked!
First, Blair at Reasonably Swanky. I love how absolutely funny her blog is, and I can relate to her easily. Love her blog!
Next, Gracie Beth at The Engineer in Heels and Pearls. I love the fact that she is another woman engineer!
Next, Brittany at Unexpected Surprises. She always leaves the sweetest comments and has the most adorable little boy Aidyn!
SEC at Summer Wind. A preppy girl after my own heart! Love her blog.
And last but definitely not least, Same Sweet Girl from Same Sweet Girl: Memoir of a Southern Belle. She was one of my first followers when I started my blog, and I've even had the opportunity to meet her when we were in Gulf Shores! I'm so glad to have her as a friend!

I wish I had time to pass this on to all of y'all!

So this morning, I had jury duty...everyone I've heard of having jury duty always says they never have to go because they are students. So when I got the notice, I called up and said "I'm a student." They were like umm...that's great but you still have to show up. The judge will probably dismiss you though. Ok?! So I went this morning and when it came time for excuses, I told the judge, I'm a full-time student and I also get paid hourly, so I can't afford the time off work (I can...but...I don't want to! Haha I work hard and I want to get paid! Especially because I'm going shopping in Gulf Shores and I have rent to pay! Don't judge). I was also mortified during this time because everyone in the court room is staring....and I'm shy. Haha! I hate situations like this where everyone is staring at me. Anyways, the judge told me I was actually selected for the grand jury, which met today for a few hours and then not again until January, when I'm expected to be there about a week! UMMM I'm trying to graduate in MAY! I'm getting my master's in chemical engineering (which a few of you asked me about). It is a research based degree where I have to defend a thesis by March. So for me to lose a week of lab time (not to mention class) in January could potentially destroy my hope of a May graduation. I promise you I am not exaggerating in the least. It would be the worst possible timing for a week away from school. I'm going to write a letter to the judge and explicitly state why I can't participate in the grand jury and pray to God he dismisses me. Otherwise....I'm kind of screwed. Plus I wanted to be like hey pal! You went to law school! You know how grad school is! Anyways...any of y'all have any advice on how I can get out of this?

Also-I want to make a blog button...but I don't know how! haha! Any suggestions?
Later this week I'm going to get back on the 30 Day Blog Challenge so I can finish that up, as well as 2 amazing companies I want to share with y'all, and a great recipe!
Happy Monday night/Tuesday!

Sugar Doll Award

Leslie at Life in it's Ordinary Form gave me a blog award! Thank you! Leslie is a new blogger and she has such a cute blog! I love reading her posts and I'm looking forward to more great things from her!

So here are the rules for this award:
Thank the person who gave it to you, share ten things about yourself, then pass the award on to ten bloggers you've recently discovered and let them know you gave them an award!

Here goes!
1. I love the Florida Gators. It's actually hard to describe how much I love my Gators. I watch every game, follow them on Twitter, read articles, I can't get enough. I CANNOT WAIT until football season just so I can go to The Swamp.
2. Like Leslie, I am addicted to Twitter. I love it and I probably check Twitter a couple times an hour. It's sick.
3. I'm addicted to M&Ms...I eat them every day
4. I love the beach all times of days. I run on it in the morning, lay out on it during the day, and walk on it at night. It's both energizing and relaxing if that makes any sense!
5. I like big vehicles. I have driven a Pilot and a Sorento...next on my list is a Tahoe!
6. I am a complete Charlotte from Sex and the City in every way
7. I LOVE to tailgate. I just love everything about football season.
8. I'm pretty crafty. I can decorate cards, ornaments, cowbells, canvases, etc.
9. I would say 75% of my wardrobe is JCrew. The rest is Gators and State shirts! Haha!
10. I am a chemical engineering grad student at Mississippi State...a Gator Girl in Cowbell Country! Good thing I love my cowbell and the dawgs too!

I pass this award on to:
2. Ashlyn at Miss Magnolia
5. Charlotte at The Charlotte Observer

Thanks again Leslie for the award!!

I'm on my way to Florida tomorrow so look out for my "What's in my beach bag?" post up soon!

TGIF Y'all!

Day 2 of SATC2 Week: My Favorite Outfits and a Blog Award!

Since the opening of Sex and the City 2 is on everyone's mind, I thought I would look back over the seasons and the first movie and pick out some of my favorite outfits that the girls wear. Carrie is the most popular fashion icon, but I have to say I do favor Charlotte's looks...they are much more my style. I tried to pick out at least one outfit for each girl!

Carrie:
Carrie's style is typically a little too bohemian-mismatched for me, but I do love some of her staple items in the show.
I love this dress from the first movie. It's so fabulous Carrie hardly needs any accessories to go with it.
This is the Halston Heritage dress Carrie wears in the second movie. I feel like this dress could go anywhere, from a beach coverup to lunch with some cute flats or dressed up like Carrie wears it. I would love to have this dress!
Carrie's wedding gown is amazing (I'm not a huge fan of the bird, but I do like the pop of color). It made her look classy and elegant with the princess feeling every girl wants on their wedding day.
Also from the first movie...I just love her jacket here, and how she mixes and matches patterns but sticks with the green.
From "An American Girl in Paris, Part Deux". I love how she has a "tutu" style dress for an adult! Just gorgeous.

Samantha:
Samantha is sassy and still classy. In the series, I loved her bolder business looks. I wish I could have found more pictures of her fabulous outfits!
I love the pink power suit with the little details like the big buttons and the gold jewelry. And typical to Samantha, she still has her sex appeal factor with the low cut top underneath.
I love Samantha in this little black dress. Its sexy, classy, she looks fabulous.

Miranda:
In the series, Miranda started off as a little masculine with really short hair and structured suits. Towards the end, her clothing was a little more feminine and her haircut was cute and trendy. By the movie-her clothes were amazing!
This is professional and at the same time classic and girly. Love the dress and especially the red coat.
From the first movie-Miranda looks really pretty and put together and I love her accessories and style!

Charlotte:
Charlotte is the character I'm most similar to, so it is no surprise that I absolutely love her style. She is classic, tailored, feminine, and glamorous.
I would kill for this coat. Perfect length and shape. The only problem is around Starkville, I might be mistaken for an Alabama fan if I wore houndstooth!
This look is really feminine and classy. She looks great!
After Charlotte lost her baby, Elizabeth Taylor's story inspired her to get out and over to Brady's first birthday party. This dress is killer and I love the sunglasses.
One of my most favorite of Charlotte's dresses. I love the cut and the shape of the dress with the green right at the top. I wish I could have this dress-it would go well with my green eyes! And of course I love her pearls! So classy!
Definitely my favorite Charlotte outfit. I just fell in love with this dress. It is a great timeless style that could go from day to night with a swap of accessories. I love her bag and sunglasses too!
I love this picture, especially Charlotte's tasteful strapless dress with the great floral pattern and Miranda's belted bold dress. Carrie's dress isn't quite my taste, but I do like the colors she is wearing and of course-her shoes!
One of the promotional pictures for the second movie. All four of them look amazing in this picture and their red outfit matches their personality! I most love Charlotte's style dress (no surprise there) but I love how all of them look so happy and how great their dresses look on them!

SATC2 Countdown Quotes: 3 days (or is it 2?):
Charlotte (on Carrie's flying trapeze experience): I could never! I have the most terrible fear of heights!
Carrie: Well, I do not...you've seen my shoes.
