I attended last years game at Miss. State and I found the ringing pretty incessant. It would be one thing if it was a vocal cry (Pig Soowie, Roll Tide) or something that happened between plays but I still have the ticket that firmly stated "No Artificial Noise Makers, Horns, Cowbells, Etc Permitted in Stadium" and the video footage of rude fans ringing them the entire game. (And I have a memory of the headache that I had for hours after.)

I'm not saying that it is a tradition that should go away, I'm just staying please do not compare it to a vocal one. It is a great (and fairly funny) tradition - I just wish I would have taken a few pain pills before the game!

(P.S. My husband just compared them to a Vuvuzela - the noisemakers at the World Cup. We went this past year and they're played just as randomly as the cow bells are at MSU games!!)

(Also - Here are the photos, I'm not lying!!!
http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=62209447&l=e51784a621&id=2005012
This man is the reason for my headache: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=62209449&l=96c88740d8&id=2005012 )

Please don't hate me though - I absolutely loved visiting Starkeville and we plan to visit again! I just don't think it is comparable to most of the other traditions. (Although I absolutely HATE LSU's throwing beverages tradition - that one can GO!)Hannahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17998209409220136371noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-592572669642246120.post-39699180979704323302010-10-28T19:52:10.908-05:002010-10-28T19:52:10.908-05:00you're too cute!
